London-drinking

I went with a mate who has been a regular here for some time.Tiles is more a restaurant (on two floors) than a bar, & I thought the food was excellent. I had mackerel and rib-eye steak - both were fresh & substantial & very good value for money. They were so substantial that I didn't have room for dessert, which is unusual for me.

There was an interesting & reasonably-priced wine list & we shared bottles of an Argentinian Semillon/Sauvignon & a (Chilean, I think) Carmenere red.

The ground floor tables are quite tightly packed, so there's not much elbow room, but that only adds to the fun. Downstairs seems a little more spacious.

Topped off by pleasant & attentive service, Tiles provides a good value, no-nonsense eatery in the waste lands of Victoria.
